Sphere Entertainment Expands to Abu Dhabi

Sphere Entertainment Co. has announced plans to build a second Sphere venue in Abu Dhabi, following the success of the first in Las Vegas, which opened in 2023. This expansion is part of Abu Dhabi's Tourism Strategy 2030, aiming to establish the city as a cultural and innovation hub by boosting tourism and creating 178,000 jobs. The new venue will feature advanced technology and immersive experiences similar to the Las Vegas Sphere, with a capacity of 20,000. The collaboration between Sphere Entertainment and Abu Dhabi's Department of Culture and Tourism includes a franchise agreement for the venue's design and technology. The Abu Dhabi Sphere will contribute to the city's efforts to distinguish itself as a premier travel destination. The project aligns with Abu Dhabi's broader strategy to diversify its economy and bolster its entertainment and cultural offerings.
