Kirkland's Home Plans Closure of 25 Stores Across U.S. by January 2026

Kirkland's Home is set to permanently close 25 store locations by January 2026 due to lease expirations, and these closures are not part of the two-year plan to convert some stores into Bed Bath & Beyond locations. The closures allow Kirkland's to focus on higher-performing stores while Bed Bath & Beyond, after its 2023 bankruptcy and store closures, is working to revive its brand by converting about 250 stores into a new footprint, primarily outside California. California will see significant Kirkland's closures, including in cities such as Gilroy, Fresno, Apple Valley, and others, with no new Bed Bath & Beyond brick-and-mortar stores planned there due to the state's business climate. Bed Bath & Beyond reopened its first new store in Nashville in August 2025 and plans around 80 stores nationwide by the end of 2026. The Brand House Collective, which owns Kirkland’s and sold its intellectual property to Bed Bath & Beyond for $10 million, is spearheading these strategic moves. Executive Chairman Marcus Lemonis has emphasized the company's stance against opening physical stores in California, opting instead to serve the state through delivery.
