North Central Senior Hockey League Playoffs Semifinals Set

The North Central Senior AA Hockey League playoffs have seen three of four first-round series end in sweeps, with the Lacombe Generals, Stony Plain Eagles, and Wetaskiwin Longhorns advancing. The Innisfail Eagles were the only team to require a deciding game, ultimately overcoming the Devon Barons in a thrilling series. The second round will commence next weekend, with the Longhorns facing the Eagles. In Minnesota, the Section 7AA semifinals will take place Saturday, featuring top-seeded Cloquet-Esko-Carlton and defending champions Hermantown, both of whom had impressive first-round victories. Additionally, the girls' hockey state tournament highlights include Holy Family making its debut after an upset win, and various teams showcasing strong offensive performances in section championships. As the boys' hockey section tournament progresses, teams vie for a spot in the state tournament set to begin March 5 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
