Temasek Plans Major Restructuring, Leadership Renewal From 2026
Singapore's state-owned investment firm Temasek Holdings is undertaking its largest structural overhaul since 2011, reorganizing its S$434 billion portfolio into three distinct entities: Temasek Global Investments, Temasek Singapore, and Temasek Partnership Solutions. This reorganization, effective April 1, 2026, aims to sharpen focus on global investments, domestic holdings, and capital allocation to funds, allowing Temasek to respond more nimbly to geopolitical tensions, regulatory shifts, and technological changes. CEO Dilhan Pillay emphasized the need to build short-term capabilities while maintaining long-term orientation and preparing the next generation of leadership to guide Temasek's strategy toward 2040. Key leadership appointments include Ms. Png Chin Yee as president of Temasek Singapore and Nagi Hamiyeh as president of Temasek Global Investments, with Mr. Chia co-leading Temasek International and serving as deputy chairman of Temasek Partnership Solutions. The new structure is designed to empower emerging leaders and ensure continuity as Temasek navigates evolving global market challenges, with domestic investments representing 41% of the portfolio and international holdings 36%. Temasek Partnership Solutions will oversee partnerships, funds, and asset management companies, while Temasek International retains group and corporate functions.
