Flooding in San Antonio Kills 11, Rescue Efforts Continue
San Antonio experienced deadly flooding early Thursday morning, resulting in at least 11 confirmed fatalities and multiple missing persons. Torrential rains caused cars to be swept away near Loop 410 and Perrin Beitel, with 15 vehicles washed off the road and numerous high-water rescues conducted by emergency responders. The San Antonio Medical Examiner has identified several victims, including Martha De La Torre Rangel, Victor Manuel Macias Castro, Matthew Angel Tufono, Rudy Garza, Christine Gonzales, Josue Pinadelatorre, and Andrew Sanchez. Families of the missing continue their search and call for better safety warnings, as some victims were last heard struggling in submerged vehicles. Rescue efforts are ongoing, supported by the Texas A&M task force, focusing primarily on areas near Salado Creek, Perrin Beitel, and Leon Creek. City officials and the mayor expressed condolences and urged those affected to contact authorities for assistance in locating missing loved ones.
