Cubs Introduce Blues Alternate Uniform for 2025

The Chicago Cubs have announced a new 'Blues Alternate' uniform for the 2025 season, marking the first time since 1981 that the team will wear powder blue jerseys. The design pays tribute to Chicago's history in the electric blues music movement, incorporating elements such as a guitar pick sleeve patch and a six-string guitar stripe on the socks. The jerseys will replace the current 'Wrigleyville' City Connect uniforms and will be worn at home games on Fridays. The uniforms feature a new logo, inspired by the Cubs' blues-era uniforms and music instrument brands, and include nods to the club's road jerseys from the late 1970s. The Cubs will debut these uniforms on April 5, 2025, during their first Wrigley Field series against the Padres. This change comes as the team seeks to end a four-year postseason drought and follows the acquisition of outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Houston Astros.
