Ma Ying-jeou Leads Taiwanese Youth to China

Former Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou will lead a delegation of Taiwanese youth on a nine-day visit to China from December 18 to 26, focusing on fostering cross-Strait relations through cultural exchange. The group will participate in a winter-themed cross-Strait youth festival in Heilongjiang and engage in activities in Sichuan. This visit is Ma's second to the mainland this year, following a successful trip earlier in which he met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping. The initiative aims to bridge political divides and enhance understanding among young people from both sides, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage and cooperation. The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council expressed its support and welcomed the visit, highlighting the potential for deeper interactions between the youth of Taiwan and China. Ma's foundation previously hosted a group of Chinese students in Taiwan, showcasing ongoing efforts to promote exchanges amidst global tensions.
