Former Ohio State President Gordon Gee Returns for One-Year Advisory Role
E. Gordon Gee, the former two-time president of The Ohio State University, is returning to the institution for a one-year consulting and advisory role. Having recently retired from an eleven-year presidency at West Virginia University, Gee will support Ohio State's strategic priorities by engaging with university leaders and holding residencies at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs, the Moritz College of Law, and the Salmon P. Chase Center for Civics, Culture, and Society. He will report directly to Executive Vice President and Provost Ravi V. Bellamkonda and participate in classroom discussions, public engagements, and meetings with students and faculty to share his extensive expertise in higher education. Ohio State President Ted Carter Jr. highlighted Gee’s return as a valuable addition to the university’s vision to define the future of higher education. Gee expressed his honor at returning during his sabbatical, citing Ohio State's significance in his life and career. This appointment marks a continuation of Gee’s remarkable leadership across multiple major research universities over four decades.
