Operation Homecoming, a joint effort by the U.S. Marshals, Akron Police Department, and Summit County Sheriff's Office, successfully recovered 32 missing children in Akron and Summit County, Ohio. The operation, which took place from August 19 to September 6, focused on identifying and rescuing endangered children aged 13-18. While most children were found in the Akron and Cleveland areas, one child, missing since April 2022, was located in Washington state. U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott and Summit County Sheriff Kandy Fatheree emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving these results. Law enforcement worked closely with Summit County Children's Services to ensure appropriate resources were provided to the recovered children.
