Florida Man Arrested for HIV-Linked Sexual Battery of 8-Year-Old

Bobby McAffee, a 62-year-old man from Clearwater, Florida, was arrested and charged with sexual battery of a child less than 12 years old after confessing to sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy in St. Petersburg. The assault was reported in August 2024, and McAffee admitted to forcibly restraining the boy during the attack. Both McAffee and the victim have tested positive for HIV, with authorities indicating the virus was transmitted from McAffee to the child. The investigation lasted nearly a year, culminating in McAffee's arrest in May 2025, and he is currently held on a $250,000 bond.
