Naxal bodies found in Chhattisgarh
In one of the deadliest encounters in Chhattisgarh's history, security forces have confirmed the deaths of 31 Naxalites following a fierce gun battle in the Bastar region. The clash, which involved a joint operation by the District Reserve Guard and Special Task Force, began early Friday and continued with intermittent gunfire throughout the day. The bodies of three additional Maoists were recovered on Saturday morning, adding to the significant toll, which is the highest in a single operation since the state’s formation 24 years ago. Authorities believe the deceased belonged to the PLGA company No. 6 and were part of the Maoist East Bastar division. The operation underscores the government's ongoing efforts to combat Naxalite insurgency, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai affirming their commitment to eradicating this threat. A variety of weapons were also seized during the encounter, further highlighting the scale of the operation.
