Timothy Hervey, a 20-year-old from Oxford, Mississippi, was arrested by the Oxford Police Department on November 1, in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on Halloween. The incident took place around 4 p.m. on October 31, leaving a parked vehicle on Hurricane Lane riddled with bullet holes but fortunately causing no injuries. Police linked Hervey to the crime not only through evidence found at the scene, such as shell casings, but also through a stolen handgun discovered during a search of his home. This handgun matched the type used in the shooting and was connected to a recent burglary in the area. Hervey is currently held at the Lafayette County Detention Center facing charges of drive-by shooting and possession of a stolen firearm. The police emphasized their commitment to community safety and thorough investigations in violent crime cases.
