Families Celebrate National Adoption Day Events

National Adoption Day was celebrated with joyous ceremonies across various locations including Anderson County, Milwaukee County, Chicago, New Haven, and Santa Clara County, where numerous families welcomed children into their forever homes. In Anderson County, four children were adopted in a Disney-themed celebration, highlighting the importance of community involvement in adoption. Milwaukee County featured the emotional reunification of Mariah Morris with her biological sister after six years in foster care, while the Oppeneer family officially adopted James after a year of fostering. The Daley Center in Chicago saw 10 children adopted into loving families, with particular emphasis on keeping siblings together despite different adoptive households. Connecticut's celebration included the adoption of 40 children, underscoring the ongoing need for foster and adoptive parents. Santa Clara County marked the 25th anniversary of National Adoption Day with 19 children finding permanent homes, while over 100,000 children still await adoption.
