Fischer Group relocates headquarters to Covington, adds 350 jobs

The Fischer Group, the region's largest homebuilder, announced it will relocate its corporate headquarters and all subsidiaries from Erlanger to downtown Covington, Kentucky, occupying and expanding the historic former First District School building. The $11 million project will increase the building’s size from 65,000 to 95,000 square feet, adding modern workplace amenities and bringing about 350 jobs with average salaries of approximately $90,000 to the city. The move is the result of collaboration between Fischer, the city, Kenton County, and private investors, and is supported by city incentives, including a 1.25% taxable payroll incentive and tax incremental financing for parking. City officials and company executives highlight the relocation as a significant boost to Covington’s business environment, expected to benefit local restaurants, shops, and community vibrancy. Final approval of the development is pending city commission and planning processes. The headquarters move is targeted for completion by 2027.
