Ricky Nixon Arrested for Alleged Death Threats Against Police

Former AFL player agent Ricky Nixon was arrested in Melbourne after allegedly making threatening social media posts, including a threat to kill police officers. Police handcuffed Nixon, who requested they be gentle due to a shoulder injury, and he later claimed his account had been hacked. He has been charged with intimidating a law enforcement officer, making a threat to kill, and using a carriage service to menace, and was granted bail pending a court appearance in July. Nixon is already serving a community corrections order after being found guilty of assaulting an Australia Post worker in 2022. Additionally, he faces multiple fraud charges related to the alleged sale of fake commemorative footballs following the 2021 AFL Grand Final, for which he has chosen to represent himself in court.
