Ukraine Reveals New Laser Weapon Tryzub

Ukraine has officially unveiled its new laser weapon, named 'Tryzub' (Trident), capable of shooting down aircraft at distances over 2 kilometers, as confirmed by Colonel Vadym Sukharevskyi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces. This makes Ukraine the fifth nation to possess such advanced directed energy technology. The weapon is reportedly modeled after a UK prototype, and while its current deployment status is unclear, efforts are underway to enhance its capabilities. In addition to the laser system, Ukraine is significantly ramping up its domestic weapons production and developing new drone technologies, including 'queen' drones that can carry and deploy smaller attack drones. Meanwhile, former UK Defense Secretary Grant Shapps indicated that the DragonFire laser weapon could also be provided to Ukraine, although it is not expected to be operational until 2027. This development reflects Ukraine's ongoing efforts to bolster its defense against Russian aerial threats.
