Miami Women's Basketball Defeats Stetson 78-53

The University of Miami's women's basketball team kicked off their 2024-25 season with a commanding 78-53 victory over Stetson, marking the debut of head coach Tricia Cullop. The game featured a vibrant crowd of 5,300, including 4,500 local schoolchildren, as part of UM Education Day. Jasmyne Roberts led the scoring with 16 points, while Haley Cavinder and Cameron Williams contributed 12 and 10 points respectively, with Williams also recording a double-double. Miami dominated the boards with 58 rebounds to Stetson's 36 and outscored their opponents 40-26 in the paint. The Cavinder twins returned to the team after a one-year hiatus, contributing significantly to the win. The Hurricanes will next face Jacksonville on November 11.
