Small Plane Crash in Lake Malawi
A small plane crash in Lake Malawi on Tuesday claimed the life of a 29-year-old Dutch man, while a 22-year-old Dutch woman survived and was rescued by local fishermen. The crash involved a Cessna 210 aircraft operated by Nyasa Express, which was traveling from Nkhotakota to Liwonde with three people on board. Malawi's Information Minister Moses Kumkuyu confirmed that the woman sustained minor injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital. The pilot and another passenger remain missing, though search efforts are ongoing. The crash occurred in shallow waters near the lake's shore, which is Africa's third-largest lake. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands is assisting the families of those involved.
