Casey Mears to Race in Cook Out 400

Casey Mears, a veteran NASCAR driver, is making a return to the NASCAR Cup Series, driving for Garage 66 in the Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. The 47-year-old, who last competed in 2019, aims to reach the milestone of 500 career Cup starts, with this being his 490th. Mears previously won the 2007 Coca-Cola 600 and has raced for esteemed teams like Hendrick Motorsports and Chip Ganassi Racing. His return is facilitated by Carl Long, co-owner of Garage 66, who admires Mears for his respectfulness and racing legacy. The race car will be sponsored by HitchGO, Mosby’s Towing and Transport, and Coble Enterprises. Mears expressed his excitement about returning to one of his favorite tracks and working with Long, who he describes as a well-respected figure in the sport.
