Arizona Football Overhauls Coaching Staff After 4-8 Season

The University of Arizona has decided to make significant changes to its football coaching staff following a disappointing first season under head coach Brent Brennan and its inaugural Big 12 season. Offensive coordinator Dino Babers, on a one-year contract and a former head coach at Syracuse, will not return after being demoted from play-calling duties early in the season. Defensive coordinator Duane Akina will be reassigned to focus on the secondary, while special teams coordinator Danny Gonzales will continue in an undefined role. Arizona struggled with a 4-8 record, ranking poorly in both offense and defense.
