Hot air balloons in London

Commercial space tourism is evolving as startups like Zephalto, Space Perspective, and World View plan to offer stratospheric balloon rides for tourists, aiming to reach altitudes of 15 to 19 miles without the weightlessness experienced in rocket flights. Each capsule will accommodate eight customers and two crew members, providing a comfortable experience akin to flying in a plane. Meanwhile, the Lord Mayor's Hot Air Balloon Regatta is set to take place in London on July 21, marking its return after cancellations due to the pandemic and weather conditions. This event will feature around 50 hot air balloons launching from Battersea Park, aiming to raise funds for various charities and providing stunning views over the city. The balloons are expected to drift towards landmarks like Buckingham Palace and the London Eye, with launch planned between 5:00 and 6:00 AM. If weather conditions are unfavorable, a standby date of July 28 is in place for the mass lift-off.
