Alaska Airlines Advances Seattle International Expansion

Alaska Air Group has launched its first nonstop daily flights between Seattle and Tokyo Narita, operated by Hawaiian Airlines following their recent merger. The airline plans to transform Seattle-Tacoma International Airport into a major global hub, aiming to add at least 12 new long-haul routes, including to Asia and Europe, by 2030. Direct service to Seoul is scheduled to begin in September 2025, and a nonstop route to an undisclosed European city is set to launch in 2026. Alaska is expanding its global network through strategic partnerships, including a new alliance with Philippine Airlines, enhancing loyalty benefits for travelers. The acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines provides access to Airbus A330 aircraft, with Boeing 787 Dreamliners to be introduced by 2028. These developments are expected to strengthen Seattle’s position as a key international gateway for tourism and business.
