Titans Sign Joey Slye, Eye Roster Stability

The Tennessee Titans have signed Joey Slye as their new kicker, replacing the 40-year-old Nick Folk. Slye, known for his powerful kicks, made a career-long 63-yard field goal last season with the New England Patriots, but his accuracy remains a concern, with a career field goal percentage of 81.7%. The Titans, who have struggled with kicker consistency since 2019, are hoping Slye's potential for long-distance kicks will pay off. Special teams coordinator John Fassel and general manager Mike Borgonzi are banking on improving Slye's accuracy to stabilize the position. Despite Slye's signing, the Titans are expected to bring in additional competition for the kicking role before training camp. Folk, who led the NFL in field goal percentage the last two seasons, remains a free agent and has not ruled out returning to the league.
