Parents of Missing California Baby Emmanuel Haro Face Murder Charges

The parents of 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro, Jake and Rebecca Haro, were arrested on suspicion of murder after the infant went missing in Yucaipa, California, and authorities now believe Emmanuel is deceased. Rebecca originally reported that she was assaulted and the baby kidnapped while she was changing his diaper outside a store, but investigators found inconsistencies in her story and both parents ceased cooperating with the investigation. Despite a widespread search involving cadaver dogs in Moreno Valley, Emmanuel's body has not been found. Both parents appeared in court in Riverside County facing felony murder charges, and are being held without bail. The couple also has a 2-year-old child who was removed from their home following Emmanuel's disappearance, and Jake Haro has a prior conviction for child cruelty. Authorities continue searching for Emmanuel's remains while the case moves forward in court.
