HUD Secretary Announces $2.2 Million for Tribal Veterans Housing
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced $2.2 million in additional funding for the Tribal HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH) program, aimed at providing rental assistance to Native American veterans facing or at risk of homelessness in Tribal communities. This funding, sourced from unspent Fiscal Year 2017 resources, will help expand support services for eligible veterans, and both new applicants and current grantees are encouraged to apply by August 15, 2025. The program combines HUD rental assistance with case management and clinical support from the Department of Veterans Affairs, currently benefiting over 500 veterans in 29 Tribal communities and having served more than 1,100 veterans since its inception.
