Former Senator Bob Casey Joins University of Scranton as Public Service Fellow

Former U.S. Senator Bob Casey has joined The University of Scranton as a Leahy Distinguished Fellow in Public Service, where he will mentor students interested in public service careers and advise the university's Center for Ethics and Excellence in Public Service. Casey, a Scranton native and graduate of Jesuit institutions, will also share his expertise through lectures and seminars on topics such as health care, aging, ethics, and government accountability. Having served Pennsylvania for 18 years in various roles including state auditor general, state treasurer, and U.S. Senator, Casey brings extensive experience to this part-time position. The role reflects his commitment to fostering public service beyond elected office and inspiring future leaders across various sectors. University officials highlighted Casey's Jesuit education and values, which align closely with the institution's mission. The fellowship is supported by longtime benefactors Edward and Patricia Leahy, further emphasizing its importance to the university community.
