Kansas City Police Officer Dies After Fleeing Car Strikes During Chase

A Kansas City, Kansas police officer was critically injured and later died after being deliberately struck by a fleeing suspect during a police pursuit near Kansas City Kansas Community College. Officers had responded to reports of gunshots and found a suspect armed inside a vehicle, which fled when police attempted to stop it. As the officer deployed stop sticks, the suspect swerved over the median and hit the officer before crashing and being taken into custody.
