FBI Deploys 60 Agents Nationwide for Operation Not Forgotten

The U.S. Department of Justice is deploying 60 FBI personnel to assist with investigations of unresolved violent crimes in Indian Country, particularly addressing the issues of missing and murdered Indigenous persons. This deployment, known as Operation Not Forgotten, marks the largest and most focused national effort by the FBI to tackle these crimes, with personnel rotating through ten field offices across the country over six months. The FBI will collaborate with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Tribal law enforcement, utilizing modern forensic tools to resolve cases and hold offenders accountable.
