Kamindu Mendis Sets Multiple Test Cricket Records

Sri Lankan cricketer Kamindu Mendis has set multiple records in Test cricket, becoming the fastest Asian and joint second-fastest overall to reach 1,000 runs in just 13 innings, equaling the legendary Don Bradman. His unbeaten 182 against New Zealand helped Sri Lanka declare at 602-5 on the second day of the second Test in Galle. Kamindu also became the first player to score fifty or more in each of his first eight Test matches, surpassing previous record-holder Saud Shakeel. Despite being dropped early in his career, Kamindu has consistently demonstrated his prowess, scoring five centuries in eight Tests and playing key roles in Sri Lanka's victories against Bangladesh and England. His remarkable form has seen him average over 90, earning accolades from cricket legends like Angelo Mathews and Kumar Sangakkara.
