Chris Pine to Star in Chekhov's Ivanov in London

Chris Pine will make his London stage debut as Nikolai Ivanov in Simon Stone’s new adaptation of Chekhov’s Ivanov at the Bridge Theatre, running from 4 July to 19 September 2026. Stone is writing and directing the production for the London Theatre Company in collaboration with Wouter van Ransbeek, reuniting much of the creative team from his current Bridge hit The Lady From The Sea. The staging is billed as a modern reimagining that examines Ivanov’s mid‑life malaise, mounting debts and a collapsing marriage, mixing comedy and tragedy in Stone’s contemporary style. Pine, whose screen credits include Star Trek, Wonder Woman and Poolman, was praised by Stone for his sensitivity and intelligence. Tickets are on presale for Bridge priority members now; an advance presale for members begins 23 October 2025 and public booking opens 24 October 2025 at 12:00 noon.
