Iranian, Belarusian Presidents Hold Bilateral Talks in Minsk
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in Minsk for an official visit to meet with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Palace of Independence. The talks, held in both restricted and expanded formats, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, industrial collaboration, and joint initiatives in science, technology, and education. The leaders also discussed their countries' coordination and shared positions within international organizations such as the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), BRICS, and the United Nations. Regional and international security issues were key topics on the agenda. The visit is expected to culminate with the signing of several bilateral agreements aimed at deepening political, economic, and technological ties between Belarus and Iran. Trade between the two countries has grown significantly, reaching $74.4 million in the first half of 2025, marking a 33.6% increase over the previous year.
