Corbin Burnes to Start AL All-Star Game

Baltimore Orioles' Corbin Burnes will start for the American League in the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, opposing Pittsburgh Pirates rookie Paul Skenes. Burnes, a 29-year-old right-hander, boasts a 9-4 record with a 2.43 ERA and 110 strikeouts this season, marking his fourth consecutive All-Star appearance and the first time an Orioles pitcher starts the All-Star Game since Steve Stone in 1980. Skenes, at just 21 years old, is 6-0 with a 1.90 ERA in 11 starts and will be the fifth rookie to start an All-Star Game.
