Mark Jackson Arrested in Aurora Drive-By Shooting

On April 8, Aurora police arrested 18-year-old Mark Jackson, a repeat offender, in connection to a drive-by shooting that occurred on April 4 while a group was filming a music video at a gas station. Witnesses reported multiple gunshots from a white SUV, which struck one individual, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Jackson, who was on parole and a suspect in an active attempted murder case, fled from police when they attempted to pull over his vehicle, leading to a brief foot chase before his capture. Officers recovered a 9mm Glock 19 with a conversion switch and a .40-caliber Taurus handgun during the arrest, believed to be linked to the shooting. Jackson faces multiple charges including possession of a weapon by a previous offender and vehicular eluding, while a 16-year-old female passenger was also arrested on related charges. Authorities are continuing their investigation and have called for tips from the public.
