WISe.ART Launches Mayte Spínola NFT Artwork into Low Earth Orbit

WISeKey International Holding Ltd has launched Spanish artist Mayte Spínola's digital artwork "El Cristo Cósmico" into low Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, marking a significant milestone in merging art with space technology. The artwork, tokenized as an NFT on the WISe.ART platform, is securely stored on a WISeSat satellite using embedded hardware security modules and blockchain authentication, ensuring robust digital security. This initiative exemplifies WISeKey's innovative strategy to expand digital expression by combining satellite technology, blockchain infrastructure, and NFTs, enabling artists to reach global and extraterrestrial audiences. Carlos Moreira, founder of WISeKey and WISe.ART, described space as a new medium for human expression, emphasizing the secure and visionary opportunities for artists and celebrities to project their work from orbit.
