Fairhaven Man Killed in Bridge Crash; Fundraiser Launched

A tragic head-on collision occurred on the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge late Thursday night, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Mason Evich, a Fairhaven resident. According to Massachusetts State Police, the crash involved a Tesla, driven by Evich, and a GMC Sierra, driven by a 62-year-old man who sustained serious injuries after the GMC crossed into the eastbound lane. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Evich's family, quickly surpassing its initial goal. The crash is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office. Police had to close the bridge for several hours during the investigation.
