Fairhaven Man Killed in Crash on New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge

A tragic head-on collision occurred on the New Bedford-Fairhaven Bridge late Thursday night, resulting in the death of 28-year-old Mason Evich, a Fairhaven resident. The crash, reported around 10:20 p.m., involved Evich's Tesla and a GMC Sierra driven by a 62-year-old man. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the GMC crossed the double yellow line, leading to the fatal impact while Evich was traveling in the opposite direction. Evich was pronounced dead at the scene after being extricated from his vehicle, while the other driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital. The Massachusetts State Police are conducting an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have closed lanes for several hours to facilitate the investigation.
