Paramount Skydance Names Leadership Team Ahead of August 7 Merger
The merger between Paramount Global and Skydance Media, expected to close on August 7, 2025, has led to significant leadership and structural changes within the combined company, now named Paramount Skydance. Cindy Holland, formerly Netflix’s VP of original content and recent CEO of Sister, will chair direct-to-consumer efforts and bring key executives Jane Wiseman and Efrain Miron to lead original content and content strategy respectively for Paramount+. The Paramount board will be reconstituted with 10 directors, including David Ellison as future chairman and CEO, alongside notable industry leaders such as Safra A. Catz and Sherry Lansing. Paramount Television Studios is being revived under Dana Goldberg, who will co-chair Paramount Pictures and oversee television operations, with Matt Thunell set to lead the newly reformed TV studio that consolidates Skydance Television and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios. Don Granger, president of Skydance Features and Sports, will head film at Paramount, overseeing major projects including Top Gun: Maverick and new initiatives like the horror label Nocturna. These moves reflect a strategic integration of talent and assets aimed at strengthening Paramount Skydance’s position across streaming, television, and film.
