Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off six new Vande Bharat Express trains and laid the foundation for railway projects worth Rs 660 crore in Jharkhand through a video conference due to bad weather, later addressing a public rally in Jamshedpur. The new trains will connect Tatanagar, Patna, Bhagalpur, Dumka, Howrah, Brahmapur, Gaya, Deoghar, Varanasi, and Rourkela, helping to boost connectivity and local industries. This development comes ahead of Jharkhand's assembly elections, with former Chief Minister Champai Soren joining BJP, adding to the political dynamics. Meanwhile, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw traveled by Mumbai’s local train to interact with commuters, discussing ongoing projects worth Rs 16,240 crore aimed at enhancing Mumbai's rail infrastructure. Vaishnaw emphasized that these projects, including new lines and elevated corridors, will significantly improve the commuting experience in one of the world’s densest rail networks.
