Erne Gaels Clinch Fermanagh Title After 43 Years

Erne Gaels Belleek clinched their first Fermanagh senior football championship title since 1981, defeating Enniskillen Gaels 1-13 to 1-9 in a replay final at Brewster Park. Despite a strong start from Enniskillen, who led by five points in the first half, Erne Gaels rallied back with a goal from Ryan Lyons just before halftime, turning the tide in their favor. The second half saw Enniskillen's Richard O’Callaghan sent off, which further hampered their efforts to regain control. Erne Gaels maintained their lead with critical points from Shane Rooney, Ultan Kelm, and Barry McCann, securing a memorable victory. Manager Declan Bonner, in his first year at the helm, celebrated this significant achievement after a 43-year wait for the title. This win sets them up for a challenging encounter against Scotstown in the upcoming Ulster Senior Football Championship quarter-finals.
