LACMA Plans 14th Art+Film Gala Honoring Ryan Coogler, Mary Corse

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) will hold its 14th annual Art+Film Gala on November 1, 2025, honoring pioneering artist Mary Corse and visionary filmmaker Ryan Coogler. The event, co-chaired by museum trustee Eva Chow and actor Leonardo DiCaprio, celebrates leaders in art and film while supporting LACMA’s exhibitions, acquisitions, and educational programs. Gucci continues as the presenting sponsor, with its new artistic director Demna making his debut at the gala. Mary Corse is recognized for her influential work in the Light and Space movement, exploring light and perception through painting, while Ryan Coogler is acclaimed for his transformative films including "Black Panther," "Creed," and the recent hit "Sinners." The gala will take place against the backdrop of LACMA’s nearly completed David Geffen Galleries, designed by architect Peter Zumthor and set to open in April 2026. Proceeds from the event further LACMA’s mission of integrating film more centrally into its programming and general institutional goals.
