Catherine Tate to Host Doctor Who Prom

Catherine Tate will host the upcoming Doctor Who Prom at the Royal Albert Hall on August 26, 2024, celebrating the music of composers Murray Gold and Segun Akinola. This year’s event features the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Alastair King, and includes performances by soprano Aida Garifullina and several other artists. The concert will showcase music from the latest Doctor Who series starring Ncuti Gatwa, as well as pieces from the 60th anniversary specials and classics from Gold’s long tenure with the show. This year marks a return of the Doctor Who Prom, with previous events held in 2008, 2010, and 2013. The concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and later on BBC TV. Tate expressed her excitement about hosting, stating she is looking forward to celebrating the enduring Whoniverse.
