DOGE Cuts Over $370 Million From Education Department's DEI Budget

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, has made significant budget cuts, slashing $370 million from the Department of Education's diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives within just 48 hours. This includes the termination of 70 DEI training grants, which DOGE claims were unnecessary and wasteful. Recently, DOGE also canceled another $881 million in contracts, with more than $100 million specifically allocated for DEI. In a broader crackdown, the Education Department has mandated all state education departments to eliminate DEI policies within 14 days or risk losing federal funding, citing legal precedents against racial discrimination in educational settings.
