Monica Wright Rogers Named Toronto Tempo GM

Monica Wright Rogers has been appointed as the first general manager of the Toronto Tempo, the WNBA's first Canadian franchise, which will start its inaugural season in 2026. Wright Rogers, a two-time WNBA champion and former assistant GM of the Phoenix Mercury, will lead the recruitment of players and a head coach through a dynamic free agency and expansion draft process. The Tempo will play home games at Coca-Cola Coliseum and also in Montreal and Vancouver. Tempo president Teresa Resch personally conducted the search for Wright Rogers, emphasizing her fit for the franchise. Wright Rogers has expressed her intent to learn from other sports teams in Toronto to ensure a successful launch for the Tempo.
