Broncos QB Sam Ehlinger Declines Offers Joins Practice Squad

The Denver Broncos have decided to keep quarterback Sam Ehlinger on their practice squad after initially releasing him to meet the 53-man roster deadline. Despite having offers to join other teams' active rosters as a third-string quarterback, Ehlinger chose to stay with Denver, highlighting his belief in the team’s future and the supportive quarterback room led by Bo Nix, Jarrett Stidham, and coach Davis Webb. Ehlinger, who performed strongly in the preseason with impressive stats, will serve as the third-string QB behind Nix and Stidham. Broncos head coach Sean Payton expressed a strong desire for Ehlinger to return, which reflects the positive culture within the team. Additionally, guard Calvin Throckmorton was also signed to the practice squad to add depth to the offensive line. Both Ehlinger and Throckmorton, being vested veterans, did not have to pass through waivers before rejoining the Broncos practice squad.
