Six Injured in Jefferson City House Explosion
Early Saturday morning, an explosion in a Jefferson City home resulted in six individuals being rescued from the rubble, suffering moderate to severe injuries. First responders arrived at the scene at 2:44 a.m. and had to navigate extensive debris to extract the victims, with the last person being freed by 5:52 a.m. Two of the injured were transported by helicopter to University Hospital, while the others were taken by ambulance. Emergency crews, including the Jefferson City Fire Department and various mutual-aid resources, undertook a significant response involving 37 personnel and multiple medical helicopters. Additionally, two pets were rescued and are now under the care of animal control. The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
