Veteran safety John Johnson III has re-signed with the Los Angeles Rams for his third stint with the team, the terms of which were not disclosed. Johnson, originally drafted by the Rams in 2017, played four seasons with the team before joining the Cleveland Browns in 2021 on a three-year, $33.75 million deal. He was released by the Browns after two seasons and returned to the Rams last year on a one-year contract, playing in all 17 regular-season games and starting eight. Johnson's return adds much-needed veteran presence to the Rams' secondary, especially with the addition of new defensive coordinator Chris Shula and the loss of Aaron Donald. The Rams also re-signed defensive back Darious Williams and brought in new faces like Kamren Curl and Tre’Davious White. Johnson's experience and leadership are expected to be crucial as he mentors younger players and competes for a starting role.
