Surveillance footage from local businesses identified Jones as the person using the card at various locations such as a smoke shop, Whataburger, and Circle K. Police attempted to arrest Jones discreetly during a children's party, but he resisted, leading to a public arrest that drew attention and sparked discussions about the appropriateness of making arrests in family environments. The stolen card and related receipts were found in Jones's possession during the arrest, and Chuck E. Cheese’s parent company confirmed internal actions had been taken.
