Jaguars Sign Travis Hunter to Historic Rookie Deal
The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, to a fully guaranteed four-year, $46.65 million contract with a record-setting $30.57 million signing bonus fully paid upfront. Hunter is the first non-quarterback not drafted first overall to receive his entire bonus upfront. The Jaguars announced his signing in separate posts for wide receiver and cornerback roles, emphasizing his unique two-way abilities. Hunter’s contract includes a fifth-year club option, but future negotiations could be complicated since current NFL rules do not address dual-position pay. The Jaguars’ investment signals their expectation that Hunter will be a transformative player for the franchise. With training camp nearing, Hunter is set to become one of the NFL’s most-watched rookies.
