Two Fatal Crashes Shut Down Tucson Roads
A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a commercial vehicle on eastbound Interstate 10 at Speedway Boulevard in Tucson, Arizona, resulting in a several-hour freeway closure for investigation. The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, was possibly struck by another vehicle after falling and was pronounced dead at the scene. In a separate incident, 75-year-old Steven Raynor Bye died from injuries after turning left into the path of an oncoming SUV on East Old Vail Road. The SUV driver was uninjured, stopped immediately, and cooperated with authorities. Investigations in both cases attributed the primary cause to unsafe vehicle movement by the motorcyclist and bicyclist, respectively. No citations were issued to other drivers involved.
