Airbus Opens Largest Helicopter Parts Hub in Niagara, Canada

Airbus Helicopters Canada has opened a new 21,000-square-foot integrated distribution center in the Niagara region, significantly expanding its footprint in Ontario and reinforcing its commitment to the Canadian aerospace sector. The facility will serve as a central hub for spare parts and logistics, improving lead times and aftermarket support amid rising demand for Airbus helicopters, particularly the twin-engine H135 used by the Royal Canadian Air Force and Ontario Provincial Police. This expansion aims to support time-critical missions such as air ambulance, wildfire response, and law enforcement by accelerating parts delivery and enhancing operational efficiency. Airbus has operated in Fort Erie since 1984 and currently leads the Canadian helicopter market, with over 830 helicopters nationwide and dominance in airborne law enforcement. The new center will also allow the Fort Erie manufacturing and completions facility to grow, supporting local skilled jobs and strengthening partnerships with Canadian suppliers. Airbus President Dwayne Charette emphasized that the expansion demonstrates the company’s long-term investment in innovation, local talent development, and sustaining Canada’s aerospace leadership.
