North Bethesda Homicide Linked to Kidnapping Arrest
Montgomery County police responded around 7:40–7:45 a.m. Sunday to an apartment in the 5900 block of Montrose Road in North Bethesda and found an adult man dead; the death is being investigated as a homicide and the victim was sent to the medical examiner with identity withheld pending next-of-kin notification. Several outlets initially reported no arrests or suspect information publicly released, but detectives allege two people in the apartment were kidnapped and forced into a vehicle after the shooting. The male hostage was later released in Silver Spring and the female was located at Westfield Montgomery Mall, where 37-year-old Sheldon Milan Boykins was taken into custody and charged with two counts of kidnapping and firearms offenses. Investigators are searching for two additional men believed to be involved, the investigation remains active, and authorities are expected to provide updates.
